Young Life Puerto Penasco, Love for Local Youth

We were very pleased to attend the Young Life Red Carpet Gala last night in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.   What a beautiful night to see so many local people come out to support the young people of Penasco.    Everyone was dressed in formal attire, and enjoyed a lovely dinner, presentations, fellowship with friends, music and dancing.

The Red Carpet Gala raises money for local youth and promotes the Christian Values of the Young Life organization.  The local youth presented an interesting video presentation of each individual occupation goal, showing that they youth are serious about their future vocations.   They seem to understand the importance of education and are willing to work hard to achieve their goals.

The evening was also a Celebration, as the local Young Life chapter has been in existence for 11 years!   The successes of the first youth participants was obvious as their vocational achievements were mentioned.   With past participants becoming teachers, vet techs, engineers, etc, it is a real cause for Celebration!

Funds were raised for the local youth to attend Camp, through dinner ticket sales, a silent auction, and donations.   The silent auction offered great items from local merchants, like Mercedes Rusticas, and local tequila sellers.   The audience enjoyed outbidding each other to win the great items but more importantly, to help the youth achieve their camp goals.   It was a real pleasure to see the community participate in this generous event.

Photos were also taken on the Red Carpet of the lovely dresses and tuxes of the people attending.   The local youth were also dressed beautifully, and they seemed to enjoy the glamorous surroundings.     The Civic Center in Penasco is a spacious and modern facility that offers many different room sizes and technology for local events.

Encantame Towers

We are pleased to see the plans for the new Encantame Towers taking shape.   Encantame Towers is located in beautiful Playa Encanto, just east of Puerto Penasco, aka Rocky Point Mexico.

The East beaches are known for their quiet serenity.   Encantame Towers will be a beachfront resort, with short terms rentals available, making this a great investment opportunity.   Gorgeous pool areas, beaches, and restaurants, coffee shops and more will be offered.

Floor plans begin at a total of 829 square feet, including the patio for a 1 BR.   The bedroom is facing the ocean, which is a real plus.   Modern finishes and open floor plans, along with large patio doors give you an airy, beachy feel.   The prices for a 1 BR start in the low $200,000s, and the developer is offering fantastic financing terms, so with as little as 20-30% down, you can reserve your dream beach condo.

There are two different 2 BR floorplans, ranging from 1502 total square feet to 1733 total square feet.   The bedrooms are both up front in the smaller 2 BR, with direct balcony access.   Imagine the ocean breezes.    The larger deluxe 2BR plan has a larger living room area with the second bedroom pushed back a bit.   But this deluxe plan does allow balcony access and views for the 2nd bedroom as well.

The 3BR floorplan highlights a spacious 2190 square feet of open, flowing views.   The walls of windows bring the outside in as the balcony truly feels like part of the condo.   The open kitchen makes this a perfect condo for entertaining even the largest family.

The design of Encantame Towers brings a flowing sailboat to mind, giving the owner a truly enchanted view of our lovely Sea of Cortez.    With an out of town location, renters and owners can feel a bit privileged to enjoy extra peace and solitude.

HGTV Features Puerto Penasco on House Hunters International!

House Hunters International episode via HGTV  is airing on July 19!!   John Witt, owner broker of Realty Executives Rocky Point, is the realtor who shows the couple properties in Las Palomas, Sonoran Resorts, and Luna Blanca Resort.   The couple is looking to purchase their beachfront condo in Puerto Penasco, aka Rocky Point Mexico, on the beautiful Sea of Cortez.   Their family has fond memories of the beach community, and wants to experience the resort life in this shrimping village.

They are looking for a condo that is beachfront, has a nice kitchen and balcony, and at least 2 BRs.   Fortunately, the Rocky Point community has many condos available starting with prices in the $200,000s.   Condos in Penasco are known for their luxurious finishing and close proximity to the beach and restaurants.  Fresh seafood is also readily available.   House Hunters International has been to Puerto Penasco in the past several times.  Each time they have done a fantastic job of showing the local restaurants and amenities of the community.    Many scenes have been shot in the malecon area, popular to tourists.

This couple who are purchasing the condo, are also Christians who want to make a difference in the community.   They have volunteered with One Mission in the past, helping build homes for local families.  As members of the Peoria based church CCV, Christs Church of the Valley,  they have been part of groups coming to Penasco for several years.   What a wonderful way to help improve the lives of local people, while coming to Mexico to enjoy the lovely beaches and local life.

Be sure to tune in to the HGTV website to confirm the showtime, as it may change depending on the local viewing area.   The Phoenix area is scheduled to view the episode on Thursday, July 19 at 7:30 pm, and again at 10:30 pm.

Beach Beautification in Puerto Penasco

Puerto Penasco Mexico is very proud of their beautiful beaches.   Having won an internationally recognized award for Clean Beaches, they work diligently to keep the beaches clean and appealing.     Currently, Las Palomas, the largest resort in Rocky Point, aka Puerto Penasco, is installing new palapas to provide even more shade for their customers.   With the salty sea air, there is continual maintenance required to keep resorts looking fresh.   Palapas are the perfect way for visitors to stay cool in the shade while they watch the sealife.

Located on the Sea of Cortez, Puerto Penasco is a relatively small shrimping village that has turned into the most popular beach for those living in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.    With warm, clean, calm waters and many lovely resorts on the beach, it is the perfect destination for beachcombers, Retirees, RVers, even Spring Breakers.   With huge tides that fluctuate during the day, the hard packed sand provides the perfect place to walk during low tide.

The Winter season in Puerto Penasco is special too because of our Whales who visit!   Whale watching tours are a fantastic way to watch the huge mammals frolic in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez as they pass through.    Getting hungry with all the activity?  The ocean  provides fabulous shrimp for all to enjoy.   Reasonably priced, and so fresh, it’s a treat to purchase the fresh shrimp and cook them yourself in a condo.   Don’t feel like cooking?   Check out one of the many restaurants who provide fresh seafood and also many other popular dishes.

Cool Ocean Breezes still found in Puerto Penasco!!

Driving south from Phoenix in June, who could guess that we would find cool ocean breezes?    We thought outdoor fun was over when the temps reached 118 in Phoenix.   Then we watched our temperature gauge in our car drop as we drove south.   Heading into Puerto Penasco the temp outside is now 85.   WOW, perfect for sitting on the balcony watching the ocean waves.   Or better yet, hitting the beach and body surfing?    There are great waves right now in Penasco, perfect for boogie boarding, riding banana boats, jet skis or just floating on your air mattress, keeping you cool, embraced by cool ocean breezes.
The beaches are packed, looks like many people have discovered the Sea of Cortez, Arizona’s closest ocean beach.    After receiving the Clean Beach designation this year, the beaches are better than ever.    The community is working diligently to keep them clean and comfortable.     The temperature of the Sea of Cortez is still just a tad chilly, probably in the 90s, much warmer than in California, just enough to make it refreshing.   We have been walking the beaches, and are so glad to say we have not seen any jellyfish, so its perfect for sitting on the edge of the water in a comfy chair, letting the waves wash over us while we are enjoying the cool breezes.
Don’t forget to check out our condo listings, it’s the perfect time to grab that family vacation condo, the owners are making bank now, as rental rates are super!   Here at Las Palomas we have another fully booked weekend.    Be sure to join the fun and check out the investment opportunities for our gorgeous beach condos!   Why not put your money to work for you?    And then enjoy your investment by investing time with your family.    Remember, the healthy ocean breezes and Vitamin D from the sun equal Family Fun!

Rocky Point Activity Soars

Our little beach town Rocky Point, Puerto Penasco,  is moving forward at great speed.    Rocky Point activity from tourists is spurring development in this beautiful town on the northern edge of the Sea of Cortez.   Developers seem to be moving forward based on the positive activity in the real estate and tourism sectors.

With tourism again reaching record numbers,  faith seems to be running high among investors, from the small investors wanting to purchase oceanfront condos quickly before the prices rise out of their reach, to the developers who are resurrecting several local developments, banking on sales to tourists.    There are more and more investors buying multiple condos to cash in on the rental income from US and Mexican tourists.     With more and more sold out weekends at popular resorts like Las Palomas, investors seem to be optimistic with their return on investment.

Tourists are flocking to Rocky Point for the  gorgeous beaches, great food, and now more than ever, activities to keep even the adrenalin junkies happy.   Rocky Point Activity centers around  Riding ATVs which has long been popular, but now there are more choices for speed with a new zip line, better organized fishing expeditions and parasailing.    Individual resorts are putting forth more effort to entertain the tourists with concerts, movies, volleyball, and even cooking lessons.   For more detail on Rocky Point Activity schedules

Developers are watching the activity and are preparing to position themselves to be ready for the tourists who want to own a piece of paradise.   Several developments are becoming active again, including Esmeralda and Corona del Sol.    They are banking on the tourists who have more expendable income for that beach getaway and the baby boomers who will be retiring in record numbers over the next several years.    Prices for that perfect beach condo or home are still manageable in Penasco, much less than many other resort areas.

With a mayor who is encouraging development and tourism from many countries, we are sure to see continued growth and activity here in Penasco.
